The new EP "Temporal" brings music by Ychicawa, alongside master Peruvian musicians Rafael Fusa Miranda (woodwinds) and Arturo Valdez (doublebass), inspired by the concept of impermanence and the transitory nature of things. It deepens the band's search for a synthesis between the folkloric and experimental, inside the jazz tradition.

Through delicate ensamble dynamics and modulations, Temporal moves towards avant-garde sonorities, creating musical scenarios in constant change, without loosing the lyricism and heart inherent in its folkloric roots. You can hear in the repertoire a huayno (a type of andean song) transform into a odd meter trance, an afro-peruvian festejo turn into a collective improvisation, and a reggaeton rhythm evolve into a modern jazz frenzy.​

OYE! is the Barcelona-based trio formed by Jason Owens (winds), Juan Pablo Egúsquiza (double bass and effects), and Ken Ychicawa (drums and percussion). This band is centered on the contrasts of textures and spaces that emerge from deep listening, interaction and real-time co-creation. Elements of contemporary music and free improvisation collide and manifest in a colorful and energetic language, where the traditional roles of the instruments are in constant transformation and the pieces function as open structures that allow for reinterpretation in each performance, fostering a living, organic music in continuous development.

This band plays Ychicawa's most multifaceted "crossover" music, grabbing elements from a wide range of musical spheres such as post bebop, prog-rock, orchestral, songwriter music, and traditional Peruvian music.
